In ITA we focus on three Market Offerings: Business Design: helping organisations meet their operational and strategic challenges by designing and building business environments where people, culture, processes and technology work brilliantly together. IT Transformation: re-shaping IT organisations for digital, delivering a step change in IT services, organisations, cost bases and ways of working. Digital Trust: designing and protecting information centric business models for clients to release and protect the value of their information assets. As an industrial placement student you will be working on a number of activities to support the operational management of the practice, with particular focus on supporting core activities of our three Market Offerings. Being central to the work that we conduct with our clients, the scope of activities for each Market Offering covers sales, account management, marketing as well as the development and management of our collateral. The support of our Market Offerings necessitates engagement with senior members of PA, and support from across all consulting ranks. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Coordination of sales management activities, including tracking pipeline opportunities using both tracking spreadsheets and our Microsoft Dynamics based CRM system (XRM) Supporting sales meetings by preparing input materials, capturing and tracking actions arising Coordination of and contribution to service development activities Development and maintenance of intranet pages using Microsoft Sharepoint to store, showcase and make accessible our collateral to consultants from across the practice and wider PA business Collation, review and commissioning of service collateral (including track record/case studies, methodology, etc.) Support and contribution to the development of client proposals and other sales development material (for example, client briefing packs and capability decks) Supporting the creation of marketing materials Development of networks with other services and account teams Preparation for and attendance at client and/or senior PA stakeholder meetings Preparation of information packs. The position is viewed as having an important part to play in the successful delivery of our practice operational plan. The industrial placement will report to a senior consultant who has responsibility for a number of key aspects of operational management. Through this line management arrangement, the practice will ensure that the role offers both challenging opportunities to contribute to the success of our business as well as a broad introduction to the world of consulting. The placement student will also benefit from having a mentor to ensure that their integration into the practice team is rapid and effective.Job Requirements This role is for students looking for a 12 month industrial placement as part of their degree programme. Applicants should have a minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) and expect a 1st or 2:1 degree in an IT-related subject. Some work experience in the IT field is desirable but not essential. Initially the role will involve 'hands-on' technical as well as analytical and consultancy work. We are also looking for students who can demonstrate the following characteristics: Self-motivated and confident with the ability to use initiative and work alone A strong team player Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to deal with people of all levels including senior management An out-going personality coupled with high levels of enthusiasm Able to work unsupervised with ever changing priorities and demanding deadlines Well organised with excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage many work streams in parallel Ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously, with good prioritisation skills to deal with changing situations as they arise A keen interest in IT and its application to solve business problems, couple with a broad understanding of the technology challenges our clients may face.
